It will have to be different

Good day, from my desk to yours.

I’m looking out the front door of my new chiropractic office, the office I’ve been in for less than a month now. This is the same door I can look out of and see such a beautiful landscape across the way, a view that sums up life in the small home town of Descanso; peaceful and serene. I can't believe I grew up here and now, twenty years later, I'm back. And at just the right time of day I can hear the jovial voices of the elementary kids from down the street coming through this same door during recess, reminding me of the days I used to play on that very playground.

I’m emotional thinking of the journey it took to get HERE and I’m quite grateful for every step along the way, even the challenging ones.

When I first came back to California in 2021, I was still very much picking up the pieces from my old life, a life that quite honestly was in ruins. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever be a chiropractor again. I certainly didn’t have the strength then to pull off much of anything. I was in need of my own mending.

Many would ask, “Are you going to open an office again?” While I was doubtful and lacking much direction of any kind, there was a still small voice that would repeatedly say these words, “If I do, it will have to be different.” I must have said this a hundred times. It’s all I knew to be true.

“If I do, it will have to be different.”

Isn’t that what second chances are all about? Doing things differently.

We don’t always need to bulldoze our current circumstances and start completely over to do things differently.Sometimes, we just need to pause, breathe and ask ourselves, “What can I do differently with what I have right here, right now?”

When it comes to mending, you may have many steps in front of you. One of the most important steps you may need to take is to simply pause and ask yourself, “What can I be doing differently?”

And if you quiet yourself enough, you may hear a still small voice too.

What is it saying?

What needs to change in YOUR life?

How can I help you?

Wherever you are on your journey, please remember you don’t have to do it alone!

At mend: a chiropractic ministry, I am here to have these conversations with you. Mend exists because of second chances. Mend exists because God changed my heart, mended my soul and guided me every step of the way in doing things differently. I do not know where I would be if he wouldn’t have rescued me, "turned me around and placed my feet on solid ground." (Inspired by Maverick City Music) I definitely would not be HERE looking out this door, I know that for a fact.

Forever grateful,

Dr. Jenna Urban

Wow I love your faith! Bless the Lord Jesus Christ!

I too do a donation based service when I braid hair and I Have enjoyed the Lord touching people’s heart concerning payment. He never fails to amaze me.
